Neuroendoscopy is a minimally invasive neurosurgical specialty which is used to treat diseases of the brain and spinal cord. The skills required for this surgery is challenging to acquire and dedicated feedback-based training is essential to reduce iatrogenic errors. We have developed a neuro-endoscopic training module for endonasal skull-base surgery that includes a mannequin head and real-time tracking software. The mannequin head is designed from a CT data of a dry cadaveric skull and is virtually associated with its corresponding CT using point-based registration and localization while the activity is performed. This helps the trainee surgeon to accurately identify where he/she and also anatomically orient to the adjacent vital structures. This training module evaluates movement precision, dexterity and tissue manipulation skills of the surgeon.
