"There are several unaddressed issues in the design and realization of tactile graphics which need to be addressed to ensure effective perception and comprehension by a blind individual. 

In recent work I have tried to explore the role of BITs (Basic Identity Tags) in discrimination, identification and retention of 2D tactile shapes. This talk will share some interesting insights gathered during recent experimental surveys done with students with blindness."
